![]() If you don't want to go that route, why not boost research to help unlock the juicy bio techs you'll want? V. Ofc, since you are going bio ascension (you really should as a hive mind). Once you gain unlock the last bio ascension perk, you won't even need to terraform anymore. Then take world shaper with the adaptability tree. I really would boost minerals and research, or even energy instead. Its especially problematic with hive minds, as migration is disabled (you can't have a slow planet backfilled by faster growing pops that are growing at double the rate on your favorable worlds). ![]() Admittedly, hive mides have a harder time reaching these (can't conquer and assimilate new species with different climate spheres until mid game and no robots), but you still recieve harsh growth penalties even with extremely adaptive. There are simply far too many ways to boost or side step habitibility issues to invest so many trait points into it. Meh, I've always found the adaptability traits as overrated. It can be fun to play but as I said, I think Hive minds are weak unless they pick Devouring swarm(you can easily turn these into one though) but even with Devouring swarm you get negatives like everyone really really hates you so it locks you into a 100% war playstyle all the time which can be kinda meh. You already started the Adaptability tree and can quickly finish it for +1 gene point and 15% faster modding and +1 minerals from farms -> ascension perk -> Engineered Evolution +3 trait points 25% faster modding.Īt this point you dont even need to remove Nonadaptive if you dont want to since its not a problem anymore with your rampant terraforming. You can now expand to 'every planet', dont have to bother with tile blockers. Start with colonization problems but you dont want to colonize too much anyways since you are focusing on tech and your first ascension perk. The reason I like this race is that it flows pretty well from one stage to the other. Hopefully by this point you already have Terraforming gases and liquids, meaning you have really cheap and really fast terraforming. Pooled knowledge +1 leader cap and +1 level capįirst goal is to get terraforming tech ASAP.Ģnd goal is to get the first ascension perk ASAP, pick World Shaper.ģrd goal is to start on Adaptability tradition tree unless you already started, get the +10% habitability and -15% terraforming cost points. I personally think hive mind is really weak, with that said I think I have a bit of a fun way to play the normal Hive mind, it works pretty well too. Tl dr: What traits do you use for your hive-mind species? I don't really want to go industrious or thifty but it seems I may just have to. If I take extremely adaptable, I throw on either slow learner, or weak, but as I said I'm thinking of changing it up. Leaves me with 2 skills for a total of +3 points. Right now Fast Breeders, Repugnant and Wasteful are my locked in traits. Well probably not worth it for 4 points, and I think I could get the same with just Adaptable since it would take me out of the 20% bracket that most planets not in your temperature give you. Now my question is how do you guys go about doing your traits in 1.8? I would like to use Extremely Adaptable but as far as I can tell, it would net me a 5% increase in productivity which is. I loved Hive-mind when it was released, and thoroughly enjoyed it when they gave them the +10% habitability so I could just run Adaptable for easy colonization. ![]() ![]() Heyo Folks, been playing Stellaris for a while now, and always come back after an update or two. ![]()
